Your fingerprint sensor isn't working.
This repair guide shows you how to replace the fingerprint sensor of your Google Pixel 2 XL. This fix is necessary, if your Google Pixel 2 XL no longer recognizes your fingerprints.
The repair is difficult, because the screen is glued. So you should only do this repair, if you feel ready to remove the screen without breaking it.
If you can't unlock your Pixel 2 XL, replacing your fingerprint scanner could help. Then you'll be able to lock/unlock your Google Pixel 2 XL again. If your screen lock stays on or unlocking is slow, this guide can also help.
You will also need an adhesive frame to close the display properly after opening the device.
