The touch screen no longer works, the display has visual errors or the glass is cracked.

Your Samsung Galaxy A40 fell down and now the display is broken? Fortunately the Galaxy A40 is quite easy to repair. The back cover is not made of glass, but of plastic compared to other Samsung models, making it much easier to open. The back cover doesn't scratch or break as easily during this procedure and is a bit more flexible and bendable.

Be sure to check your spare part for transport damage or other defects before repair. If something is not in order, do not use the spare part, but exchange it directly.

If you get stuck at any point of the repair, you can always contact our support. We will be happy to help you. Simply use the chat function or write a comment beneath the instructions. We are also happy to receive feedback!

And now good luck with the repair!

    iFlex Opening Tool

The backcover of the Galaxy A40 is heavily glued along the entire edge. Heat the glue to make it easier to remove. The back cover is made of plastic and not glass, unlike many other Samsung Galaxy models. Therefore it does not break easily, which makes it easier to remove.

    1. Heat the edge with a heat gun or a normal hairdryer to about 60°C. Heat especially the area where you start to remove the back cover.

As a rule of thumb, heat up to a point where you can still hold the appliance with your fingers.

    1. Place a suction cup on the back cover and pull on it while pressing the unit down. If a gap like this forms, you can insert a tool like the iFlex or a pick.

Do not push the tool too far into the device to avoid damaging anything inside. Pay special attention to the cameras in the upper left corner.

    1. Then move your tool around the whole frame to gradually loosen the glue. Use flat picks to keep the already loosened part open.
    2. When the glue is loose, you can put the backcover aside.

    1. Loosen the plastic cover over the connector with tweezers.
    2. Then carefully separate the connector with a spudger.
    3. Then remove the fingerprint sensor.

But never heat the battery directly! Heat the entire unit from the side of the screen.

    1. Then lever with a thin tool like the iSesamo or a battery spudger at the edge of the battery.
    2. Do not pry at the upper edge where the connector is located, as the battery controller could be damaged there.
    3. If the battery can be lifted slightly, use a tool to remove all the glue underneath the battery.
    4. Then remove the battery.
