Getting started with the repair of your Galaxy S8+

Switching off your device
Turn off your device by holding down the power button until the “Power off” option appears.
Use your finger to confirm that you want to shut down your Galaxy S8 Plus and wait until the screen goes blank.
Removing the back cover
The back cover’s really glued to the chassis. Heat the device evenly with hot air to soften the glue.
Then carefully try to lift the rear glass using a flat, blunt tool. It’s best if you find a loose spot where you can insert the first pick. Then work your way around the device step by step.
Use a suction cup to lift the glass if you can’t find anywhere to insert the toolThis step can take a pretty long time. You may have to heat the rear glass or the glue a few more times before you can finally detach itDon’t take off the back cover all the way because you have to disconnect the connector for the fingerprint reader first.
Disconnecting the fingerprint sensor
After detaching the back cover, carefully lift it and disconnect the fingerprint sensor using the spudger.
Then you can completely remove the back cover and set it aside.
Removing the NFC antenna
11 × 3,8 mm Phillips Schraube

Remove the screws that attach the upper cover to the display.
The cover is latched onto the case. Slide a flat tool under the latches to disconnect them.
Now remove the antenna.
Disconnecting the battery contact
Using the spudger, carefully disconnect the battery contact from the motherboard.
Removing the speaker
4 × 3,8 mm Phillips Schraube

Remove the screws that attach the speaker to the display.
Use a flat object like a pair of tweezers to detach the speaker and then remove it.
Removing the SIM and microSD card tray
Use the SIM tool to eject the SIM card tray from your device and then remove the tray with your fingers.
Disconnecting all the contacts from the motherboard

Using the spudger, carefully disconnect the marked contacts from the logic board.
Make sure you don’t damage the motherboard’s contacts when you disconnect the antenna cables.
Removing the front camera & sensor
Simply pry the front camera and the sensor out of the chassis and then remove it.
Removing the motherboard
Now you can carefully remove the motherboard. Make sure it doesn’t get caught on the connectors you already disconnected.
The USB port is still connected to the back of the board. Once you’ve lifted the board, you can use the spudger to disconnect this contact.
Then set the board aside in a safe place.
There's a small plastic pin in the opening of the SIM tray. Make sure it doesn't fall out.

Removing the camera
Disconnect the rear camera’s contact from the bottom of the motherboard.
The camera is lightly glued to the board so you have to carefully push out the camera with your finger.
Remove the camera.
Installing the camera
Take care not to get fingerprints or dirt on the camera lenses.

Insert the new camera into the hole in the board and then press it a little bit.
Connect the contact of the camera to the motherboard.
Installing the motherboard
Now you can put the motherboard back in.
First connect the USB connector on the back of the board.
Then you can put the board back in the enclosure. Make sure no cables or connectors get stuck under the board.

Now connect the marked contacts to the board again.
Inserting the SIM and microSD card tray
Insert the SIM card tray back into your device. Make sure the tray is positioned properly.
Installing the front camera & sensor
Put the front camera and the sensor in the opening at the upper edge of the enclosure. Make sure it clicks into place properly.
Installing the speaker
4 × 3,8 mm Phillips Schraube

Now put the speaker at the lower end of the enclosure.
Press it gently with your fingers until it clicks into place in the enclosure.
Then reinsert the marked screws.
Connecting the battery
Connect the battery to the motherboard. Press the contact onto the connection on the motherboard until you hear it click into place.
Installing the NFC antenna
11 × 3,8 mm Phillips Schraube

Put the cover with the antenna back in the enclosure after hooking it onto the top of the enclosure.
Then press the cover with your fingers until it clicks gently into place all over.
Fasten the phillips screws.
Attaching the back cover
Put the back cover back in its original position.
Connect the fingerprint sensor again.
Press the back cover on all over so the glue will stick.
You can also heat your device with hot air and then clamp it or weight it down with a couple books so the glue will stick better.
