  1. Removing the SIM card tray

    1. First turn off your OnePlus One.
    2. You can use the SIM Tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card tray. Press the SIM Tool into the small hole in the SIM card tray to remove it.
  2. Removing the back cover

    1. Insert a thin, flat, tapered spudger into the gap at the corner of your smartphone. There are several clips on the outside under the back cover. You have to disconnect them by moving the spudger around the entire smartphone one time. Alternatively, you can detach the back cover using your fingernails.
    2. Then you can take off the back cover.

    1. Remove all 15 Phillips screws that hold the plastic cover in place.
    2. 5 Phillips screws are hidden under a rubber cover. Use a sharp object to lift out the cover.
      12 x 3.1 mm Phillips screws
    3. Now you can remove the following screws.
      8 x 3.1 mm Phillips screws
      1 x 3.1 mm Phillips screw
    4. Lift out the logic board cover. Carefully insert the pointed tip of the ESD spudger into the headphone jack and lift the black cover. Also pry it out at other points.

    1. If your OnePlus One is still on, turn it off now by holding down the standby button for about three seconds and following the prompt on the display.
    2. Now you can detach the battery connector. Be very careful. Place the pointed tip of the spudger very slightly below the contact and carefully lift it up. The pictures show where you should put the spudger to avoid breaking off the little resistors even if it slips.
    3. Now lift the battery with the spudger and then remove it.
  6. Installing the battery

    1. Put the battery back in and connect it.

    1. Now put the cover back on.
    2. Then fasten all the Phillips screws again.
      8 x 3.1 mm Phillips screws
      1 x 3.1 mm Phillips screw
    3. Don’t forget to put the little rubber plugs back in.

    1. It’s very easy to put the back cover back on. Put it on in the correct position and press it on all the way around the phone until it’s completely clicked into place.
